How long will my spray tan last?

Your spray tan will last, on average, 5-7 days.

Is there any way to extend my tan?

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!! Your tan will appear to fade as your skin naturally sloughs off. Moisturizing will slow down that process. I also have DHA infused shower gel and lotion available for purchase, which can extend your tan 2-3 more days and help promote even fading.

How long does the spraying process take?

If I'm coming to you, your appointment will take about 45 minutes.

If you're coming to me, your appointment will take about 30 minutes.

How long will it take to dry?

Because Aviva Labs uses an oil-free solution, it takes only seconds!

Will I turn orange?

No. There have been SO many advances in sunless tanning over the last few years. The possibility of having an unfavorable result is very minimal. 

​

Will it stain my clothes and/or sheets?

Bronzer will wash out of clothing and/or your sheets. We do suggest wearing loose-fitting, dark-colored clothing during your set time.

Will a spray tan cause my skin to break out?

Aviva solutions are hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, vegan, gluten free, and PETA approved. They should not cause your skin to break out. 

​

Is it safe to get a spray tan while pregnant?

DHA is generally considered safe, as it's been used in cosmetics for decades and no problems have been reported. As with anything else during pregnancy, check with your doctor first.

Is it okay to swim in the pool with a spray tan? ​

Of course! Keep in mind though, the chlorine in swimming pools can lead to a faster "fade". You can still enjoy a swim and protect your tan if you take quick dips to reduce the time your tan is in contact with the water Make sure to gently pat yourself dry once you come out. 

Do spray tans leave a bad smell?

Aviva solutions are formulated with FDA approved, natural and organic ingredients... and they are virtually ODORLESS!

Do I still need to wear sunscreen?

Yes. A spray tan will not protect you from harmful UV rays. Oil-free, water resistant sunscreens are recommended. Try to avoid sunscreens in spray cans as they have a higher alcohol content (which will dry out your skin faster).

Do you have to be a certain age to get a spray tan in NJ? 

Golden Mermaid Tanning encourages parental approval for minors under the age of 16. And of course parents are welcome to be present during appointments. 

​

Do you have a frequent tanners club?

YES! This is the best way to maintain your tan. Weekly appointments are available, starting at $89/month.

How often can you get a spray tan?

Well, the average spray tan lasts 5-7 days. So once a week should be okay for most people, as long as the previous tan has completely faded. This is because you need a "blank slate" to get an even spray each time.

Do you offer group discounts?

YES!! For groups of 3 of more, all tanning at the same appointment, each person will receive $10 off their spray price.
